Basically it's very simple, answer the questions below with titles of books read in 2011. They have to be appropriate to the questions, of course. It gets tough... because you're not supposed to repeat your own answers.
Describe yourself:
A Companion to Wolves by Sarah Monette and Elizabeth Bear
How do you feel:
Unlocked by Courtney Milan
Describe where you currently live:
Embassytown by China Miéville
If you could go anywhere, where would you go:
The Abode of Bliss by Alex Jeffers
Your favorite form of transportation:
Love and Rockets by Gavin Atlas
Your best friend is:
Somebody Wonderful by Kate Rothwell
You and your friends are:
We the Animals by Justin Torres
What's the weather like:
In the Bleak Midwinter by Julia Spencer-Flemming
What is life to you:
A Lot Like Love by Julie James
Favorite time of day:
Winter Knights by Harper Fox
Your fear:
Drown by Junot Díaz
What is the best advice you have to give:
Chill by Elizabeth Bear
Thought for the day:
Never Cry Wolf by Cynthia Eden
How I would like to die:
Playing Dirty by Susan Andersen
My soul's present condition:
Dangerous Ground by Josh Lanyon
That's it! I had a tiny problem with transportation -- my answer is the title of a book I didn't review, so no link for that title. AND, although I had two different titles to answer "Your Fear," both were for books I just finished reading this week!
That was fun. Thank you, Christine. :)
Great answers! Thought for the day is very good... just had this discussion with someone :)
ReplyDeleteI need to read Drown! Will do tomorrow!
Great answers! I'm doing this when I Get home.
ReplyDeleteSo fun, great answers! I love Love and Rockets for the transportation question - that one is always tricky for me!
ReplyDeleteFun answers, Hils!!! Isn't it amazing how many books we read in a year are so appropriate for this meme? I had two or three choices for a lot of these prompts to choose from.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite of yours is Love and Rockets for your favorite form of transportation! Love that!
p.s. I think it's fine to repeat other people's answers in your meme, just no repeating book titles in your own list... so you're safe! ; )
Thanks for playing along and linking up! This is so much fun. :D
Here's to another great year of reading! xo
Great answers, Hils... and really, I don't think it's any big problem if you haven't reviewed the books LOL.
ReplyDeleteI was going to use A Lot Like Love too. I'll have to look for something else. I think the hardest to come up with is the form of transportation...
Mariana, this was such fun! And yes... Never Cry Wolf was kind of perfect. Hmm.. appropriate for a few reasons here too. LOL --- And yes! Please read Drown... I think you'll enjoy it, I would love to discuss it with you.
ReplyDeleteAlex! I'll look forward to reading your answers. That's the fun part of this meme. LOL!
Lisa, thanks! I just visited you and saw your great answers. I couldn't believe when I saw that title in there... glad you liked it. That's one tough question.
Christine, I know! For some of these questions I had quite a few choices too. That was such fun! Thanks for getting us to play.
Nath, ohhh so glad you're playing too. Now I'm going to visit you to see what you come up with. Go ahead and use that title if you want to. I had it wrong! See Christine's comment above. *g*
I love the advice you have to give and how you would like to die. LOL!!! I'm glad you decided to fill out the meme this year and I hope you do it as well next year. It is interesting to read what books you have read from year to year. *hint hint* LOL. Happy New Year's to you and your family, Hils!
ReplyDeleteHilcia, what a fun post! Your answers are great. How did you pick the titles? Was it random or did you go by any criteria?
ReplyDeleteHappy new year!
Tabs! I miss you!!! I'm so glad you enjoyed my answers... lol... I will probably play again next year since I enjoyed it so much. It really turned out to be fun. Happy New Year's to you and your family, Tabs!! All the best to you!
ReplyDeleteSonia, it is fun, right? I'm glad you enjoyed it too. How did I pick the titles? Well, I looked through my list of books read and chose the ones that best described me, or how I feel at the moment... it worked out quite well! It's actually fun and incredible how it works. *g*
Happy New Year to you! ((Hugs))
Lovely answers Hils! I loved your answer about the weather :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteDo you mind if I borrow this idea for a portuguese forum I participate in? Some people there would love the concept!
I might do it too, but I'm way behind in my summaries of 2011..
Kisses!
Orannia, thanks. Oh yes, the weather... that was a great book! *g* Happy New Year, Orannia!
ReplyDeleteSonia, I think it's okay if you use the idea for your Portuguese Forum. Just, FYI... please give the credit to Christine, The happily ever after... (I don't think she'll mind) You can see her link above. It's her idea! :D A GREAT idea. Right? I love it too.
Kisses and Happy New Year!!!
Great answers! Loved the advice:)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed them, Pepca. I love this meme.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
I just went by your place. Loved your blog. :D
Hilcia! Happy new year!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reply, I'll give the credit for Christine, yes. When I finally fix things I'll post it ( I have to make some changes lol, like the language of course) and then I'll tell you the link so you can have an idea how it looked like..probably only will do it during next week.
Have a nice year, full of books!!
Sonia, by all means, spread the meme love on your Portuguese forum! It would be nice if you mentioned where you found the meme on your forum, but it's not my original idea! I saw it on someone else's blog years ago who saw it on someone else's blog and so on... it probably can't be traced to its original source anymore. LOL! I simply enjoy doing it every year and decided to organize a link up this year. Have fun! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Sonia/Christine, yay! This is such a fun idea, let the meme love roll.... lol!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you both!
((Hugs))
Christine Hi!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the idea, I'll post here the link when I finally have things done, so you all can see how it turned out.
BTW, Christine, I visited your blog and I'm following!
Hugs for you too Hilcia!
Hugs, Sonia!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sonia!
ReplyDeleteI visited your blog and am following you back! :)

ReplyDeleteIt's obviously in portuguese and I just posted so no replies yet. I'm yet to post too, both here and in my blog, but I will, soon.
Take care! :)
I'm not sure why the link didn't show correctly in the first comment...but here it it again.

Sonia, the link came through fine! Hey... I understood the whole thing... lol! Great. But I didn't see your answers. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting the link and for the shout out. :D
Hugs
Lol, sorry, it's just that I can't see the whole link! Weird.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I haven't posted because I still couldn't find the time to go through my reading list and pick answers! It seems to me the more I want to do, the less time I have, I still couldn't comment any of the books of january in my blog and I've read 5 of them already!
House stuff plus work = no fun.
You understood everything? How cool!! Well, I understand most spanish too, although I've only studied it for 5 years.
Ok, so now you've seen, it was just to honor you lol :)
Hugs!!
