Nath, I read her some of her books a long time ago, and stopped because they weren't doing anything for me. I thought I would give her another try. :(

Orannia, families can certainly do that. I certainly agree with you on the character development too and growth -- that's what I was waiting for from this character -- it never happened.

It's not just you, orannia. This was a pretty short book and it had so many characters involved and so many different plot lines, there was no real space left to really develop the main characters and the romance. The kitchen sink indeed!

Thank you Hils. Unfortunately, the steam rolling by the family kind of makes sense. Sometimes, they do that. Perhaps if the author had allowed the character to develop and learn to stand up for herself it wouldn't be an issue, but I'm guessing that doesn't happen?

And maybe it's me, but...I'm really sick ATM of books with suspense plots - the stalker, the drug lord. What happened to the romance and character development? It's like authors are throwing the whole kitchen sink of plots at books.
