If you're going to read one book, I would recommend you try the first one to get the feel for the character and the series.Hilciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17765831808358693421noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1444239480570451270.post-25302979879914954042011-05-09T16:31:43.261-04:002011-05-09T16:31:43.261-04:00You read the first and this one only right?
Very...You read the first and this one only right?

Very interesting views. Yeah, nothing worst than someone undercover who cannot keep that secret ^_^;

I'd probably try one just for the feel... but I doubt this is going to be for me.nathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02626894830238717124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1444239480570451270.post-6687844949851419652011-05-09T07:22:40.515-04:002011-05-09T07:22:40.515-04:00Orannia, this is a mystery series. With this genre, I'm not picky about reading the books in order. :DHilciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17765831808358693421noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1444239480570451270.post-9006789861523926702011-05-09T02:12:15.361-04:002011-05-09T02:12:15.361-04:00It does sound very interesting, but...eight books ...It does sound very interesting, but...eight books already... *looks at TBR list* *hunches*oranniahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14007355589161084262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1444239480570451270.post-15867265221337197952011-05-06T07:48:39.913-04:002011-05-06T07:48:39.913-04:00Christine, yes this is the latest release in the s...Christine, yes this is the latest release in the series. I decided to read the first and last in the series to check it out. It's really an interesting series and am enjoying the whole post WWI, pre-WWII atmosphere in England. It's a nice setting. The whole situation with the main character is interesting to say the least. *g*

Li, I'm glad it's not just me! I take into consideration the whole English reserve, etc... but, yeah... even with her internal dialogues etc... it's more tell than show. Don't feel it at all.

When you read the book, let me know what you think about Stratton. I really liked him and there's definitely something between him and Maisie in the end. Or maybe I'm just hoping, lol!Hilciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17765831808358693421noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1444239480570451270.post-5383614090661988772011-05-05T16:31:56.841-04:002011-05-05T16:31:56.841-04:00I think you've nailed why I'm waiting for ...I think you've nailed why I'm waiting for my library to get this book in instead of buying it.

I adore the very authentic setting and period, but Maisie and her psychic/empathic connection comes across as a lot more tell, instead of show, and yeah, it's hard to connect.

I like James though I don't think he is *the* one for her, interesting that you think there is another romantic relationship being set up!Lihttp://bookdaze.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1444239480570451270.post-12255357160464278552011-05-05T13:38:35.060-04:002011-05-05T13:38:35.060-04:00Oh wow. It's an interesting time period on which to write historical mysteries--and with a female lead, too. I'm glad to see you're still enjoying it, despite not feeling very connected to the main character.Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00420773211895134710noreply@blogger.com
